LOCAL PICKUP SAFETY · NOVEMBER 8, 2026

MEET UP. LOOK IT OVER.

Keep the conversation in your Mobile Residency inbox, take your time, and inspect before paying. We do not inspect items or guarantee a safe transaction.

Before you go.

Ask for clear photos, condition details, model numbers, dimensions, included parts, and proof of ownership where appropriate. Confirm availability and the total price. Check recalls and whether the product suits your rig. Be cautious of unusually low prices, urgent deposits, payment links, gift-card requests, and anyone asking for a verification code. Do not send passwords, identity documents, or banking credentials through messages.

Choose your meetup.

Prefer a well-lit, busy public location during daylight, or a designated exchange area where available. Tell someone your plans and consider taking a friend. For large items or vehicles that require a private-location visit, share the address only with the people arranging pickup and take sensible precautions. Never post your exact home address publicly. Leave if the situation feels unsafe.

Inspect before paying.

Check condition, serial or model information, included accessories, and safe operation when appropriate. For vehicles, verify the seller’s authority, title and lien status, and required transfer paperwork; consider an independent inspection. Do not attempt unsafe electrical, gas, or battery testing. “For parts” is not a substitute for clear safety disclosures.

Agree and keep a record.

Agree on the final price and any return terms. Use a payment method you understand; protections vary, and Mobile Residency provides no purchase protection. Sellers should confirm receipt through their own payment provider rather than trusting screenshots. Keep a receipt or written record of the item, date, price, and agreed terms without exposing sensitive information. You may walk away before agreeing to a transaction.

If something goes wrong.

Contact the seller through your inbox and keep relevant messages. Use Report listing or Report shop and provide useful details. Contact your payment provider promptly for payment disputes or suspected fraud. We can moderate platform access but cannot reverse a payment we did not process. Contact local authorities for theft, threats, or immediate danger.
